What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Firstory Learning Pvt Ltd ("Firstory Learning", "we", or "us") handles information when a parent or guardian uses Kitchik. Kitchik is designed for children to use through a parent or guardian account. Our initial target market is India.

Information we receive

  • Parent account details such as name, email address, sign-in method, and account activity.
  • Child profile details such as name, age, username, avatar, and learning settings created by the parent or guardian.
  • Learning information such as completed activities, practice history, progress, recommendations, learning profile information, and usage time.
  • Guest-session information needed to provide guest access and protect the service.
  • Payment and entitlement information associated with a Premium purchase. Razorpay processes payment details; we receive information needed to confirm the purchase and provide access.
  • Information you choose to send for a challenge-verification feature, such as a challenge photo. We do not state that these uploads are permanently retained.

How we use information

We use information to provide Kitchik, create and manage child profiles, save learning progress, apply daily usage limits, personalize practice, verify challenge completion, process Premium access, improve reliability, prevent misuse, and understand how the product is used. Some quizzes and speech features use assisted technology to generate or deliver learning content. We do not use this page to promise a particular educational outcome.

Children and parent or guardian use

Kitchik is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Parents or guardians are responsible for creating child profiles, choosing what the child uses, and keeping account credentials secure. We do not claim COPPA, GDPR, or DPDP Act compliance in this policy. For questions about access, correction, deletion, or children's information, contact hello@firstory.in.

Cookies and device storage

Authentication and guest access use cookies. The app may use temporary browser session storage for limited interface handoffs such as the selected profile or sign-in intent. Learning progress is designed to be saved to the service rather than treated as local-only data. Kitchik may also use a service worker for a limited offline fallback and safe static assets; it does not promise offline access to private lessons or account data.

Service providers

Kitchik uses service providers that help us operate the product, including Better Auth, Google when Google sign-in is enabled, Neon Postgres, Vercel and Vercel AI Gateway, ElevenLabs for speech generation, Razorpay for payments, Upstash Redis for service protection, Vercel Blob where used for storage, and Vercel Analytics. Providers process information only as needed for the services they provide. Their own terms and privacy notices may also apply.

Retention, requests, and changes

We have not stated a fixed retention period for every category of information. If you have a privacy question or want to ask about access, correction, or deletion, email hello@firstory.in. We will review the request and respond based on the information available and applicable requirements. We may update this policy as Kitchik changes.
